Through the Sustainable Shrimp Partnership (SSP), BioMar is committed to the highest environmental and social standards, working to make shrimp farming a thriving global practice.
As part of the communications taskforce, BioMar guides the annual marketing and communications plan. Our CEO chairs the feed taskforce and is an active member of the CEO Board.
We are an active member of the Global Seafood Alliance, supporting education, advocacy, and third-party assurances. GSA is the developer of the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) standard.
We contribute to FEFAC committees, advancing best practices in nutrition, feed, safety, and sustainability. Recently, we aligned FEFAC with new science on synthetic antioxidants and toxins.
BioMar contributed to updating v3 of the Compound Feed Manufacturing standard, adding responsible sourcing criteria for soy, palm oil, and fish meal/oil and developing ESG content for new requirements.
